When I was younger, I had a few favorite books that I enjoyed reading in and outside the classroom. Some of my favorite classics are, Miss Nelson is missing, No, David, and the Junie B. Jones collection.

Are you feeling any nostalgia yet? What were some of your favorites?
What if there was a way to bring you back down memory lane by the joy of reading books or listening to stories with your family or friends?
Well, it’s just your luck because former first lady, Michelle Obama is hosting virtual read-along for kids every Monday. This program started today (04/20/20) at noon and will continue till May 11th.
While kids are stuck inside, this will be a great time to keep their mind off things by listening to a great story. We all have been trying to find things to do while being in quarantine, and what’s a better way than to read a good book? The website, "Natural beach living," mentions how reading can form a bond between a child and their parent, it's another way of displaying love and attention.
This virtual read-along will be live-streamed on the PBS Facebook page and Youtube channel, and will also be available on Penguin Random House.
The reason Mrs. Obama started this virtual reading opportunity because she admits that as a child she loved to read and she has passed that joy by reading to her kids when they were younger. Mrs. Obama also enjoys writing books and passing those stories with the rest of the world. According to O’Kane, Mrs. Obama is excited to read to children while many parents/caretakers are under much stress, this will give them a break to have time for themselves.
So, if you know any younger book worms out there who would love to read along, then watch the streamings every Monday with Mrs. Michelle Obama.
