Everyone knows that the spooky season starts Oct 1st, but let’s be real since 2020 started this has already been one scary year. Since we’re being honest, halloween is not one of my favorite holidays, I usually shine during the Christmas season. But I wanted to make this post because I have a lot of spooky fans as readers. Also, this may not be one of my favorite seasons, I still like to participate in some of the activities.

So this is your last week to celebrate the spooky season, therefore you have to end it with a bang!

1. For at home fun, you can decorate halloween cookies

-This activity is a great time to bond with family, friends, or partners. Because if you are anything like me, then you know the competition is real. At the end of the decorating, you can have someone judge who has the best “spooky”cookie or you can post it on social media to decide who won.  (In the picture down below, my mentees & I decorated some cookies last week, definitely was the highlight of my week)

2. Decorating your pumpkin

-Another great bonding activity is to decorate some pumpkins. Now if you are a clutz like I am, then I wouldn’t suggest you to carve it. Therefore, you can paint the pumpkin, bedazzle it, or anything else creative that you want to do.

(This is our non-binary pumpkin for our apartment, however I haven't had the opportunity to decorate them, but I will before Halloween)

3. We can’t have spooky season without the scary movies

-Although, I have to watch something funny after a scary movie, I still like yelling at the people on the tv to run.

Some of my favorite scary movies are Child’s Play, Halloween(2007 version), Prom Night, and Valentine. My childhood favorite scary movies are Twitches 1 &2, Casper, and although this is not a scary movie if you ever saw the Halloween episode on Suite Life of Zack & Cody that was scary enough!

Now, moving from the home activities to the outside, if you are BOLD

4. Something a little less scary are pumpkin patches (depending on the day you go)

-Pumpkin patches are a cute little photo shoot opportunity, where you can photobomb the pumpkins. But other than that, some pumpkin patches have fun corn mazes, hay rides, petting zoos, and on Halloween sometimes they have creepy people walking around. It’s a fun activity to take your family, friends, or even a cute little date.

5. Haunted houses

-Now, I am not the haunted house type, I will go in one just for a challenge but I will scream the whole time even before something jumps out at me, so if you are anything like me or worse, then maybe haunted houses isn’t the way to go. I have been to a few though, they can be terrifying, but hilarious at the same time.

6. Visit a haunted graveyard

-Alright see this is where the spooky season loses your girl because I like to leave the spirits be. But there are people who are about that life, so if you are, go ahead and try it out. I then heard some people do scavenger hunts in the graveyards for fun.

7. Last, but not least, Halloween costumes

-Personally, I will not be dressing up for Halloween this year because due to COVID-19. I have no plans to wear a costume. Last year, my friends and I went as Destiny child, the look from their Soldier video. However, I am interested in my readers' costumes, so I can't wait to see them! (I am dropping a few pictures from Last Year costumes)

Therefore, I hope you found these tips helpful on how to to get you back into the Halloween spirit. If you miss your inner childhood like I do, the last way to bring back that spooky season fun is to listen to the iconic China Anne McClain, Calling All the Monsters.
