Netflix's South African Tv show, Blood and Water, released in 2020 left me with so many questions. And only six episodes of content, I am highly upset.

The main character, Puleng tries to solve the case of her missing sister for 17 years. But things get messy when she attends her new high school, Parkhurst.

Based on the first episode, I thought the show was going to be predictable with classical high school drama. But each episode hit me with a different plot twist.

It still amazes me how much high schoolers go through in television shows. I don't remember my high school years being this intense.

Also, some episodes are a little slower pace, but it’s worth it as it slowly leads up to new surprises.

There are bigger secrets that need to be revealed in season 2. Because season 1 touches on a little bit of the scandals of each family past, but the dots are not connecting.

My favorite character was Wade, only because I think I sympathize with him. He’s a great friend to Puleng, more than she deserves sometimes. I’ll say he’s a better friend than her bestie, Zama. Zama's issue is she talks too much and it reveals bigger secrets.

My least favorite will have to be Chris or maybe that whole clique. But mainly Chris, he’s very self-absorbed. And I think he’s the one obsessed with Fiks. (Not going to go into too much detail with that).

I also did not like Wendy, I think she tries too hard to ruin the reputation of the "popular" group that she gets in her way. Also, secrets have a way of exposing themselves, but Wendy just can't seem to mind her own business.

Throughout the whole investigation, I was turning into a detective myself with Puleng. Because I wanted to know the truth. But she is not a great detective at all, she's not sneaky, not quick on her feet, and she is one reason Fiks' life is falling apart. At that point, Puleng was trying to get herself caught. Also, her family is hiding way more than they let on. Maybe that’s why they felt guilty for 17 years.

And Puleng can’t catch a break at school, at home, and with her love life. She has a lot going on.

But anyways

I can’t say too much because I don’t want to give away the story. I highly recommend the show and I want Netflix to release a seasons 2 with more episodes. I'll give it a solid 8/10.

And I hate that the ending left me with a cliffhanger.

Now I’m planning out the whole season 2 in my head, thanks Netflix.
