Welcome back to the Ki word, I know I have been M.I.A, but now I am back better than before.
This is my junior year in college, and I was excited, but now with COVID, everything has been all over the place. All my classes are online this semester. I am honestly not here for being an online student...
BUT, I hope this blog brings some highlights to your new school year!
So, I've been taking blog suggestions on my Instagram account (Kianna.Moniqu3) and one suggestion I received is how to get a 4.0 for the fall semester. So, this blog is all about tips about reaching that GPA goal, whether its a 3.0 or higher or that 4.0.
1. GET A PLANNER
-A PLANNER SAVE MY LIFE because being organized is everything! It’s important to keep track of due dates, exams, finals, etc. Most of us, lose our syllabus or don’t check it after the first day, so having a planner or some kind of item to help you remember important dates is KI (K-E-Y).
(I have two planners as you can see in the picture below)

2. PARTICIPATE
-I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH! Engage inside of the classroom, ask questions, answer questions, or participate in discussions. Professors love to see you being active inside the classroom and it goes a long way. For example, if you are at a grade that’s like a 79.5, best believe that the professor will round that to an 80 if you were participating.
3. AVOID PROCRASTINATION
-THIS IS EASIER SAID THAN DONE. This is also another topic someone suggested, but I decided to add it to this post because it’s a huge factor. If you are distracted by the tv, maybe put yourself on a schedule on what time you can watch your show, and a time to do your homework (in a productive area) try to do your work anywhere else besides your room!
(I bought this dry erase calendar from Walmart, it helps me keep up with important dates and events, perfect for keep track of things)

Also, I know the phone is a huge distraction, the method I like to use is to put it in a bucket. I put my phone in a bucket, I hide it away from me for a certain amount of time, then after the time is up, I get my phone. This works for me because when my phone is not near me, I will not be eager to touch it.
If the phone is just a big one for you in general, I’ll suggest deleting social media apps (which is also easier said than done, but you got this)
ELIMINATE THOSE DISTRACTIONS WHETHER IT’S ITEMS OR PEOPLE!
4. GET PROPER REST
-I DON’T KNOW ABOUT YALL, but when I do not get enough sleep, this brain does not work, and you want to be productive with a full brain. So, try not to overstress yourself, make sure you are sleeping because a lack amount of sleep can lead to other health issues.

5. USE YOUR RESOURCES
-THIS IS MAJOR! IN SCHOOL, YOU PAY FOR THE RESOURCES AROUND YOU. Therefore, if you are struggling with a class, go to your professor, find a tutor around campus (it’s probably virtual now, but someone is still around). Do not be afraid to ask for help. Don’t let your grades slip so far that you can not pull yourself back up.
6. TAKE A MENTAL BREAK
-SELF CARE IS IMPORTANT! I know we all want to reach our GPA goal, but do not forget to take care of your mental and physical health. School can be overwhelming and we all need breaks!
Thank you all for reading again, I hope everyone is securing their GPA this semester. And don’t forget to subscribe, you can also send suggestions for a blog post on my Instagram (the one I mentioned before)
